Being a Call of Cthulhu adventure for four to six experienced players,
Set at a radio observatory in Nebraska during the 2025 Vernal Equinox, and
Being a greatly expanded version of Kevin Ross’ 1992 scenario,
“Music of the Spheres.”
Welcome to Bible Black!
Bible Black is a modernized adaptation of Chaosium’s “Music of the Spheres,” a scenario that originally appeared in the 1992 Cthulhu Now! scenario book, The Stars Are Right.
Designed as a “one-shot” scenario unfolding over the course ten days in March 2025, Bible Back involves paranormal events revolving around the “Great Plains Cruciform Array” in Nebraska, a fictional radio telescope observatory modeled on the Very Large Array in New Mexico. Bible Black transforms the original 1–2 session scenario into a much larger adventure, one that encompasses current discoveries in radio astronomy, the Search for Extraterrestrial Life (SETI), traditional “ufology,” modern UAP research, and other related subjects like alien abductions, UFO cults, and deep space sonification. I’ve taken a deep dive into all these subjects, and have woven a significantly expanded and revised scenario over the bones of Kevin Ross’ wonderful 1992 original. Like “Music of the Spheres,” Bible Black is centered on Ramsey Campbell’s Mythos, but takes place in a world where H.P. Lovecraft existed, and people even play Call of Cthulhu.
The core writing is nearly finished, and I’ll begin posting the scenario piecemeal here on Shipwreck Library over the next few months. Once Bible Black is completed and polished, I’ll post the entire scenario as a single, easy-to-download PDF. Updates will be posted on Shipwreck Library’s What’s New? page, and will always be accessible via the “Table of Contents.”
The Table of Contents holds links to all live material.
