Lily and Lena were loosely inspired by Daisy and Violet Hilton, a pair of conjoined sisters who made a name for themselves in Vaudeville and starred in Tod Browning’s Freaks. This banner image uses a historical photograph of Daisy and Violet getting their hair done with…uh, steampunk deionizers? Martian periscopes?
