The Black Light Coffee Menu was first uploaded to New York By Night in 1995, and was extensively revised during the July 2018 update. I corrected a few typos, adjusted some dosages, and added some “modern” concoctions, mostly reflecting the work of Alexander and Ann Shulgin. To better serve British visitors to Sarnath, I also included a new section on teas!
The banner image incorporates a piece of stained glass from the great Irish artist, Harry Clarke, who I have thoughtfully transformed into a Sabbat Toreador. As should be obvious, the concoctions detailed above are basically Mythos in-jokes, and are inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, Ramsey Campbell, and August Derleth. It should also go without saying that these spiked drinks are meant for fictional purposes only. I do not encourage brewing or drinking any of these beverages—especially not the decaf ones!
It’s possible you may have found this document as a solo page, and are thinking, “What the fuck?” The Black Light Coffee Menu is an appendix to Sarnath, the Sabbat nightclub featured here: Sarnath—The Church of Starry Wisdom. Specifically, this is the “secret menu” offered to Cainites and club regulars, printed in fluorescent ink on black plastic. The drugged beverages are meant to be consumed by human blood dolls, who then offer their psychoactive veins to their vampiric client. The coffees and teas are created by a Lasombra named Mozan Yoshi. Part of the Sarnath Coven, he is described here: The Sarnath Coven.
The original “Black Light Coffee Menu” banner is included below, and features some stunning goddamn artwork using Kai’s Power Tools! I can neither confirm nor disconfirm whether I was imbibing a Shining Trapezohedron at the time.
