Pynchon Music: Lot 49 (Ontario)

Late 1980’s London, Ontario, home of Dr Larry Daw, saw the rise of a small hardcore quartet named “Lot 49.” Touring fitfully, and only producing the odd independent release, they seemed to contribute little in the way of innovation and showed slim indebtedness to the works of Thomas Pynchon. Reading a grubby copy of Lot 49 bought for 50¢ in a used book store was probably all it took for them to get their name. Here today, they were auctioned off tomorrow.
