The Pynchon-L is a high-volume mailing list dedicated to the discussion of Pynchon and his works. It is a fairly serious and academic List, with many devoted people and some unusual personalities. In fact, the Pynchon-L has a reputation as being quite a challenging List, and it was even the subject of a book—Jules Siegel’s infamous Lineland. Newbies are welcome, but we’d advise lurking for a while to get the feel for List etiquette before joining in. Or you can skim through the Pynchon-List Archives.

The Pynchon Reddit is a more informal and free-wheeling location than the Pynchon List, and conducts numerous group-readings. It advertises itself as: “The biggest community of Pynchon fans discussing literature on the internet; r/ThomasPynchon is a sub for all things related to America’s pre-eminent postmodern author, Thomas Pynchon, (and a few things that aren’t related at all).”
