This fantastic engraving by Melton Prior is entitled “The Transvaal War: General Sir George Colley at the Battle of Majuba Mountain Just Before He Was Killed” and appeared in the Illustrated London News in 1881. Although some British soldiers would have been carrying Lee-Metfords, Prior’s illustration depicts the classic Martini-Henry.
