West Side
Running from the western slope of Central Hill to the beginning of “The Woods,” the residential West Side features some of Kingsport’s newer homes, stately buildings with wide porches, classical columns, corner gables, and front-facing pilasters. Many of the families that inhabit the West Side earned their fortunes from the sea, mostly merchants and sea captains.
