Central Hill

The largest hill in Kingsport, Central Hill rises from the city like a gentle dome, its top crowned by the white-steepled Congregational Church. The western side of the hill features Kingsport’s largest cemetery, while the eastern slope is terraced with Kingsport’s oldest and most beautiful homes. The city has recently extended its gaslight utility to these residential areas, and workers are busy installing the ornate streetlights that already illuminate Downtown. They hope to have the system connected by Christmas Eve; Mayor Cabot has already written his speech and hired the brass band.
