Notes
In 1993, Televisión Española (RTVE) aired a limited series called Los cuentos de Borges, or “Borges Tales.” Consisting of six hour-long episodes, each was an adaptation of a Borges story helmed by a different director. La otra historia de Rosendo Juárez is an adaptation of Borges’ story, “Rosendo’s Tale,” collected in Doctor Brodie’s Report and sometimes translated as “The Story of Rosendo Juárez.”
Synopsis from Films Media Group: “Set in 1930s Spain amidst the politics of the right and the left, this is the tale of a man of humble origin who kills the town bully in a just fight. His life then takes a sudden turn, entangling him in a spiral of violence and suspicion.”
